Diverse Marine to build new Iceni CTV

Isle of Wight based shipyard Diverse Marine Ltd. and Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) operator Turner Iceni have signed a contract for the construction of a newbuild vessel, Iceni Valour.

The 24m offshore wind crew transfer vessel has been designed by Walker Marine Design of Southampton to meet the specific requirements of Turner Iceni and Gwynt Y Môr Offshore Wind Farm Ltd., who have the vessel under long term charter from next year.

The vessel design includes a hull form suited to the prevailing wave conditions on site. Other considerations include a resilient superstructure to minimise structure borne vibration noise levels throughout the saloon and wheelhouse, flat working decks forward and aft with ramped side decks and simplified systems to maximise reliability and ease of maintenance by the crew and shore side support teams.

The vessel is to be powered by MANV12-1400 main engines coupled to ZF gears and Hamilton HM651 waterjets complete with AVX control system, featuring JetAnchor GPS positioning system. Humphree ride control system provides active stabilisation and improved performance/reduced fuel consumption in varied load and trim conditions.
