The Planning Inspectorate has accepted an application for the Dogger Bank South Offshore Wind Farms, submitted by RWE Renewables UK Dogger Bank South (West) Ltd and RWE Renewables UK Dogger Bank South (East) Ltd. The decision, made under Section 55 of the Planning Act 2008, was confirmed on June 12, 2024, and announced today, July 10, 2024.

The proposed development, referred to as EN010125, seeks consent for the construction and operation of offshore wind farms in the Dogger Bank area. This acceptance follows a thorough review, where the Planning Inspectorate considered the applicant’s compliance with relevant sections of the Planning Act 2008. The Inspectorate concluded that the application met the necessary standards and complied with the prescribed procedures and regulations.

The applicants are now advised to adhere to additional duties outlined in Sections 56, 58, and 59 of the Planning Act 2008, as well as various regulations under the Infrastructure Planning (Applications: Prescribed Forms and Procedure) Regulations 2009 and the Infrastructure Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations.

This development marks a significant step forward in the UK’s renewable energy efforts, with the potential to contribute substantially to the country’s clean energy goals.
