Dong Fang Offshore Co., Ltd. (DFO), a subsidiary of Hung Hua Construction Co., Ltd. has announced the completion of a conversion of the Construction Support Vessel (CSV) “Orient Constructor” into a Taiwan flagged Walk-to-Work (W2W) vessel.

The vessel is currently chartered by a turbine manufacturer to support commissioning and maintenance activities in Changhua county. The installation of a Safeway Seagull W2W system was fully completed in Taiwan.

“We are proud to have successfully delivered the first Taiwanese walk to work vessel. The accomplishment was the culmination of months of preparation from the entire team and our partners Safeway and Hung Hua to successfully deliver a fabrication and installation scope in Taiwan on a tight schedule, even with the challenges of a new local supply chain and restrictions caused by the on-going global pandemic“
said Chief Operating Officer of Dong Fang Offshore, Ben Darrington.

Dong Fang Offshore’s Chief Executive Officer Polin Chen reinforced the message: “This is just the beginning of the journey as APAC’s leading offshore marine contractor. We look forward to supporting developers to build a sustainable offshore wind industry in Taiwan.”
