EDS HVEDS HV Group (EDS), has completed installation, termination and testing work of the platform cable for cable manufacturer Zhongtian Technology Submarine Cable Co., Ltd. (ZTT) on the EnBW Hohe See project.

EDS mobilised an 11 member team in January to complete the work. The scope of work so far has included pre-engineering work such as, cable routing and design of cable containment and support as well as cable installation, termination and subsequent testing. The installation included six 155kV cable circuits plus three shunt reactor neutral connections.

The tests were witnessed by EDS principal engineer Luke Bishop who was on hand to oversee proceedings.  He said: “We are proud to have successfully completed our onshore scope of work on this important project.  This is EDS’s first contract with ZTT and I’m pleased to say that the 2 teams worked seamlessly together.  We were very pleased to share our expertise and experience to help move the project forwards.”

EDS will begin their further scope of termination and testing work for the offshore works in Q2 of 2019.

The Hohe See wind farm is located a reported 90km from the shore with a depth range from 39m - 40m. Consisting of 71 SWT-7.0-154 the capacity of the farm will be 497MW.
