EEW OSB completes Hornsea TPs

EEW Offshore Structures (Britain) Ltd. (EEW OSB) has fulfilled its contract for Ørsted's Hornsea Project Onee offshore wind farm.

EEW OSB was contracted to supply 86 of the 174 transition pieces for the project. Bladt Industries will deliver 68 TPs and Steelwind Nordenham with Wilton Engineering was contracted to supply to remaining 20.

Ørsted is currently overseeing the construction of the Hornsea Project One, located 120km off the Yorkshire coast. The 1.2GW wind farm is poised to be the world’s largest array when commissioned in 2020.

Turbine foundation installation is underway using DP2 Innovationand SEA INSTALLER; 165 monopiles have been installed so far as well as 152 transition pieces. The foundations will support 174 Siemens Gamesa SWT-7.0-154 turbines which will power more than 1 million homes.
