EEW SPC sells Teesside plant

EEW Special Pipe Constructions GmbH has announced that it has sold the EEW OSB facilityin Teesside to Wilton Engineering, a neighbour of EEW OSB. The contract was signed at the end of June.

Since the start of production in 2015, EEW OSB has completed several offshore wind projects. More than 200 transition pieces have been produced in Teesside.

However, one of EEW’s goals is to focus on the offshore monopile market; it has therefore decided to close its Haverton Hill plant. An official hand-over ceremony took place on 15 July 2021.

“We are very pleased that Wilton, one of our long-term partners, has decided to acquire the EEW OSB site in order to increase its manufacturing, logistics and storage capacity. We wish Wilton all the best for their future business”, said Sascha Hofmeister, former Managing Director of EEW OSB.

The facility, which is located on the River Tees, has a 17 ha (42 acre) site at its disposal. Wilton expects the site will boost its capacity and capabilities for its business and will create about 200 new jobs.

Established in 1994, Wilton specialises in designing, manufacturing, coating and loading out large complicated structures for the Offshore Oil & Gas, Subsea, Marine, Decommissioning and Offshore Wind Industries.
