EMO scores further Trianel Windpark Borkum work

Ems Maritime Offshore GmbH (EMO) has signed a three-year charter contract for the Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) WINDEA three with Trianel Windpark Borkum GmbH & Co. KG until the end of 2022.

The 26 m-long, Twin Axe type catamaran from the DAMEN shipyard has a top speed of 25 knots. The ship is able to convey up to 24 passengers and up to 15 tonnes of freight. A three-man crew operates the vessel.

This special-purpose vessel, developed for operation in offshore wind farms is to succeed its sister ship, the WINDEA one, which has been in operation for Trianel since 2013. It is now to be used from Borkum for another client.

“After approximately seven previous years of successful collaboration between EMO and Trianel, we are looking forward to continuing our support of the project with our CTV “WINDEA three” during the operating phase”, says Knut Gerdes, Managing Director of EMO.

The offshore wind farm consists of two phases, Trianel Windpark Borkum I and Trianel Windpark Borkum II, each with an output volume of 200 MW. EMO has accompanied the project since the construction phase with the WINDEA oneand provides logistical units on Borkum.
