ESVAGT revealed that its Service Operations Vessel (SOV)
Esvagt Njord was called in for support, as a CTV-sea trial experienced technical difficulties off Great Yarmouth on 16 September 2022.

Esvagt Njord
assisted the operation by picking up seven of ‘her own’ technicians from the CTV.

“We heard through the Humber Coast Guard that the CTV had lost all engine power”
said Captain Stefan K. Sørensen, ‘Esvagt Njord’.

Along with the client’s onshore manager, Esvagt Njord decided to launch the STB7, and pick up the technicians.

“We were not comfortable with the situation and the technicians were happy to see us”, added Stefan K. Sørensen.

The CTV’s own crew stayed on board and waited to be assisted by colleagues from another CTV.

The technicians were participants in a Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) sea trial together with four crew members when the CTV ran into technical problems.

The Esvagt Njord is currently supporting operations and maintenance at the
Dudgeon offshore wind farm. It is contracted to operate on site until 2026 supporting operations and maintenance activities.
