Fécamp maintenance base inaugurated

EDF Renouvelables announced that the maintenance base for the Fécamp offshore wind farm was inaugurated today (29 June 2022). Located at Port de Fécamp, the base will service the project throughout its lifetime.

Three personnel transfer vessels (CTV), manufactured by the company Manche Industrie Marine based in Dieppe, will facilitate technician and crew transfer between the base and the offshore wind farm. On a daily basis, the estimated 100 personnel at the base will support preventive and corrective maintenance of the installations, monitoring and optimisation of the park's production, monitoring of weather conditions, planning of interventions and surveillance of access to the park.

Designed by the Franc Architectures Group and built by the Eiffage Construction company, the maintenance base has as area of approximately 2,000 m2, consists of a control and telecommunications room, changing rooms, offices and a warehouse area of 800 m2 to store the material necessary for maintenance.

The Fécamp offshore wind farm will be located between 13 and 22 kilometres off the coast of Fécamp in Normandy. The 71 wind turbines will be connected to gravity-based foundations installed on the seabed at depths between 25 and 30 metres. It is expected to produce the equivalent of the domestic electricity consumption of approximately 770,000 people, representing more than 60% of the inhabitants of the Seine-Maritime area. It is being developed by Eolien Maritime France (a joint venture between the French company EDF Energies Nouvelles and the Canadian company Enbridge) and wpd offshore.
