Following construction progress earlier this year, the Yunlin offshore wind farm has produced first power and delivered it to the grid.

It follows the start of installation works offshore in December last year followed by the installation of the first turbine in April 2021. By end of 2021,
Yunlin is expected to have the first batch wind turbines coming into operation. The project is to consist of 80 Siemens Gamesa SG 8.0-167 DD turbines mounted on monopile foundations.

The
Yunlin offshore wind farm is located eight kilometres off the Taiwanese west coast in the Taiwan strait. With a total capacity of 640 MW, the project is one of largest offshore wind farms being developed in Taiwan. The project is expected to be fully commissioned in 2022. It is owned by TotalEnergies (23%), Sojitz Corporation Japan (27%), Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (25%) and WPD offshore GmbH (25%).
