Satellite imagery indicates that the first turbine has been installed on the 1,235 MW
Dogger Bank A project.

The largest offshore jack-up installation vessel
Voltaire, which has been on site since June, installed the first turbine between the 26th and 31st August 2023. As of 5th September 2023, it appears that a second turbine is also being installed.

This is the first assignment for Voltaire after her delivery in late 2022. Voltaire is the first seaworthy installation vessel to be an Ultra-Low Emission vessel, and has a lifting capacity of over 3,000 tons. The vessel will be responsible for installing a total of 277 turbines across the Dogger Bank Wind Farm.

Dogger Bank A, located 131 kilometres from the North East coast of England, will consist of an impressive 95 Haliade-X 13 MW turbines in a development area of around 515km².

Once operational, the Dogger Bank Wind Farm, which consists of Dogger Bank A (1,235 MW),
Dogger Bank B (1,235 MW), Dogger Bank C (1,200 MW) will be capable of powering up to six million homes annually. Collectively, they will become the world's largest offshore wind farm.

Dogger Bank Wind Farm also has the potential for a fourth phase,
Dogger Bank D, which could add up to approximately 1.8 GW of renewable energy in fixed-bottom offshore wind capacity to the 3.6 GW already in construction in phases A, B and C. The proposal's progression remains subject to agreement with The Crown Estate.
