First turbine stands at Yangjiang Nanpeng

The first turbine has been installed at the Yangjiang Nanpeng 300MW offshore wind project according to turbine manufacturer Ming Yang Smart Energy. The project is located roughly 28 km off the coast of Yangjiang, in the South China Sea.

The project is being developed by China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group at will consist of 55 MySE 5.5-155 wind turbines. The first turbine was official installed on 8 March 2020 in water depths between 23-32m approximately 28 km off the coast. The turbines are being installation on jacket foundations.


The project is expected to power 330,000 households with power being routed ashore via 220 kV offshore substation and onshore centralised control centre.
