Global Wind Service begin works

After the acquisition of Total Wind A/S in may, Global Wind Service has now resumed its newly acquired projects.

Not only has GWS got the projects up and running, it has also integrated 150 Total Wind employees into the company.

Some of the projects that GWS is now in charge of include work at Horns Rev 1 and Horns Rev 3, on behalf og Vattenfall and MHI Vestas respectively. Others included in the commandeering of contracts are the pre-assembly activities at the Port of Esbjerg and various blade repair projects throughout Europe.

Lars Bo Petersen, CEO of GWS said, “It is no secret that it has been quite a challenge growing with more than 150 employees and several projects overnight. But our organisation has been absolutely amazing and has made an incredible effort to get our new colleagues integrated and get all project up and running to the benefit of our customers. At the same time, it has been a pleasure to see how engaged and committed our new colleagues has been to get well on board GWS.”

Horns Rev 1 is located 20km off the coast in the North Sea and consists of 80 Vestas V89-2.0MW turbines which generated enough electricity to meet the demands of 150,000 private households in Denmark. It is situated nearby the operational Horns Rev 2 project and the Horns Rev 3 project which is currently under development by Vattenfall.
