GWS step up for MHI Vestas

Following the bankruptcy of Total Wind A/S, Global Wind Service (GWS) has acquired all offshore and blade activities from Total Wind A/S. With this acquisition GWS takes over several ongoing projects including customer contracts and employees.

Some of the projects that GWS is now in charge of include work to be done both Horns Rev I and Horns Rev 3, for Vattenfall and MHI Vestas respectively. Others included in the commandeering of contracts are the pre-assembly activities at the Port of Esbjerg and various blade repair projects throughout Europe.

Lars Bo Petersen, CEO of GWS said, “Despite the unfortunate circumstances for Total Wind A/S, we are pleased to announce, that GWS has been able to step in and secure the jobs of more than 150 Total Wind employees. We are also glad to be able to ensure steady progress on the projects which is already ongoing.”
