Italy will provide 70 million to fund the AGNES (The Adriatic Green Network of Energy Sources) project, from the government's 'DI Fondone' (supplement to the EU National Recovery and Resilience Fund).

The funds will be split across a three-year period (2022-2024) for the establishment of an energy center to convert oil & gas platforms and generate renewable energy off the coast of Ravenna in the Adriatic Sea from offshore wind and floating solar, and hydrogen electrolysis.

QINT’X and Saipem act as key partners in the AGNES project. Saipem will actively participate in the planning, permitting and development phases of two offshore wind farms and two nearshore projects.
  • ROMAGNA 1: A 120 MW nearshore wind farm project located about 9,5 miles (17 km) from the coast of Punta Marin.
  • ROMAGNA 2: A 400 MW offshore wind farm project located about 13 miles (24 km) from the coast of Porto Corsini.
  • MARCHE 1: A 500 MW nearshore floating wind farm project located about 16 miles (30 km) from the Marche coast of Fano, in the province of Pesaro-Urbino.
  • VENETO 1: A 500 MW nearshore wind farm project located about 12 miles (22 km) from the coast of Po delta.
