LamprellThe last of the fully assembled turbine jackets for the East Anglia ONE offshore wind farm has left the Hamriyah facility, in the UAE. The jackets are currently en-route to the port of Vlissingen where they will be prepped for installation at the array.

Alongside this, Lamprell's subcontractor, located in Belfast, continues to progress assembly of the part fabricated jackets which are scheduled to be delivered later this year.

The process of shipping and delivery of the jackets began in May with the loading out of fully prepared jackets and flat pack jackets.

Lamprell won the contract for the procurement, fabrication and supply of 60 jacket foundations and associated 182 piles for
East Anglia ONE back in 2016. 24 of the foundations have been subcontracted to Harland and Wolff.

Recently, the substation for the wind farm had been fully constructed, this was achieved by Navantia. The construction and delivery of the substation, Andalucía II, has generated around 450 local jobs.

The £2.5bn
East Anglia ONE wind farm is the first of four projects in the East Anglia region to begin construction. It is being realised solely by ScottishPower Renewables. The 714MW array will feature 102 SWT-7.0-154 direct-drive wind turbines, each with a capacity of 7MW.
Pre-piling works for the wind turbine foundations kicked off in April with the arrival of Royal Boskalis Westminister's heavy lift vessel, Bokalift. The piles each weigh in the region of 360 tons and will support the three legged jacket foundations. Full commissioning is scheduled for 2020 and the project is expected to meet the energy demands of 500,000 British households annually.
