JERA submits wind farm environmental impact document

JERA Co., Inc. (JERA) has submitted its Primary Environmental Impact Consideration Document to the Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry for a project off the town of Oga, Katagami and Akita city in Akita Prefecture, Japan,

The proposed project will be located off the coast of Oga City, Katagami City and Akita City and include as many as 29 wind turbines with a maximum generation capacity of 340 MW.

The Document summaries the results of deliberations concerning environmental conservation issues to be considered at the project planning stage. On 17 January the Document will be posted to JERA’s website and be made available for public review. Feedback is welcomed about the Document from an environmental conservation standpoint.

JERA will continue to move the Project forward under the guidance of the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry and other related authorities, giving due consideration to the opinions of other stakeholders.
