KCI to support South Korean wind farm

KEPCO E&C in South Korea has named KCI the Engineers as wind turbine substructures and foundation engineering consultant for the Jeju Hanlim offshore wind farm.

KCI has been tasked with providing consulting services and reviewing offshore wind turbine foundations for the project during the concept and detailed design phases.

KCI issued the following statement: "KCI the engineers is very grateful for being selected for this important development. It is an honor to assist Kepco E&C with the first steps into this new field for South Korea with engineering assistance and lessons learned during the development of European windfarms. With this awarding to KCI the engineers KEPCO E&C will be enabled to reduce risks and secure the project success."

KEPCO E&C has been developing the
Jeju Hanlim offshore wind farm project since 2011 on behalf of project partners. The project is located in the Korean Strait, around 1-3km off the coast of Jeju Island. The project will have a capacity of around 100 MW.
