Lamprell has revived a a full notice to proceed on a contract valued in excess of $200 million from Moray Offshore Windfarm (West) Limited.

The base scope of work includes the construction of 60 wind turbine generator transition pieces and two transition pieces for
Moray West's two offshore substations, as well as for the shipping of the transition pieces to a marshalling harbour in the UK.

To complete these works the Group will make use of a renewables production line which is currently under construction and is designed to support the construction of jacket components, transition pieces and monopiles.

Back in July 2022 the Moray West offshore wind farm reached a major project milestone having been offered a Contract for Difference (CfD) as part of the UK Government’s latest CfD Allocation Round. The project, which is being developed by Ocean Winds, a 50:50 joint venture between EDP Renewables and ENGIE, was awarded a 15 year CfD for the delivery of 294 MW wind generation at £37.35/MWh (in 2012 prices).

The development is located on the East coast of Scotland in the Moray firth, approximately 22.5km from the Caithness coastline and covers an area of covers 225km2. It will be comprised of 60 wind turbine generators with an installed capacity of 882 MW.

Following the CfD award, the wind farm is expected to make a final investment decision and reach financial close in the coming months while ramping up construction activity to meet planned first power in 2024.
