Marlinks has announced its first contract award in the United States for providing subsea cable integrity monitoring services.

The contract includes the supply, installation, and commissioning of monitoring hardware, as well as the ongoing provision of integrity monitoring services, specifically depth of burial monitoring of the project's inter-array cables. The project's developer has chosen services that will enable the operations and maintenance team to continually monitor cable risks, including unburied cables, thermal overload, and ad hoc maintenance requirements.

This will aim to reduce risks, improve response times, and allow for planning of mitigating actions to prevent cable failures and transmission downtime. The project is located on the East Coast of the United States and is the country's first commercial-scale project of its size, representing a step forward for the country's offshore wind ambitions.
