MHO Meets New CTVs

A keel laying ceremony has been held for two new hybrid CTVs for MHO-Co at AFAI Southern Shipyard, China. The ceremony was attended by DNVGL Commercial Manager, Wang Shiyan, as well as representatives from AFAI, and MHO-Co via video link.

The 35 m long CTVs, ASA102/103, will feature hybrid propulsion packages enabling future adaption to green power generation such as hydrogen fuel cells. The propulsion system (Danfoss' Editron) has a permanently magnetised electric motor contributing to weight savings and reduced fuel consumption and emissions.

On delivery, expected Q2 2021, the CTVs will provide service at the Hornsea 2 offshore wind project.
