MingYang Smart Energy secures Italian wind farm contract

MingYang Smart Energy (MYSE) has received an order from Renexia to supply wind turbines for the first offshore wind project at Mediterranean Sea. The project is located in the Apulia Region of Italy.

MYSE is set to deliver 10 MySE3.0-135 wind turbines with a 25-year full operations and maintenance service contract. MYSE stated that this project is a key milestone for the company to enter the European offshore wind market, and will be executed by Ming Yang European Business & Engineering Center in Hamburg, which is founded in May 2020 and led by Dr. Wei Chen. Deliveries are expected to begin in the summer of this year

Renexia S.p.A. is an Italian energy company, which aims to complete the development, design, construction and management of renewable energy projects. It is the renewable energy subholding of Toto Group and parent company of US Wind Inc.

Renexia acquired the 30 MW
Taranto offshore wind project from Luxembourg based Belex Holding in mid-2018. The project is expected to be commissioned by end of the year. It is anticipated that it will produce 58,200 MWh per year, enough to power 21,000 homes. It is located near the Port of Taranto, in the region of Plugia, in the south-east of Italy.
