Nakanihon Air Service and HeliService have entered a long-term cooperation agreement for helicopter support in Asia.

Nakanihon, an aviation company headquartered in Toyoyama, Japan, aims to offer helicopter support services to offshore wind projects in Japan and further afield. Under the agreement, Emden headquartered HeliService will support Nakanihon in establishing operations in Japan and beyond.

“We are very pleased to have entered this deep cooperation with HeliService. With the extensive experience and expertise HeliService has in the offshore wind market we regard them as our partner of choice.” Taku Shibata, President, Nakanihon Air Service.

“HeliService is honored to support such a reputable company as Nakanihon. We are excited about the outlook in Japan and are looking forward to supporting Nakanihon in developing offshore helicopter operations.” Oliver Freiland, Managing Partner, HeliService.

HeliService has supported a number of offshore wind farms in Europe with helicopter operations transferring personnel and equipment. Earlier this week, it secured a contract from German energy utility company EWE to helicopter flights to three of its offshore wind farms in the North Sea to support operations and maintenance activities. HeliService will support flights out its base in Emden to the Riffgat, Alpha Ventus and Merkur projects.
