The Board of Directors at EDP Renewables (EDPR) has approved the appointment of Miguel Stilwell de Andrade as Chairman of the Board and CEO of EDPR. Rui Teixeira, who has been EDPR’s interim CEO since last July, has been appointed the company's CFO.

Miguel Stilwell de Andrade and Rui Teixeira have been also confirmed as. respectively, CEO and CFO of the Group EDP, so they will combine these positions with their new roles at the head of EDP Renewables. The two will work together with the three COOs of the company: Duarte Bello (Europe & Brazil), Miguel Angel Prado (North America) and Spyridon Martinis (International Growth and Offshore).

EDPR has also announced the renewal of the Board of Directors following the changes approved yesterday in EDP’s Extraordinay General Shareholders Meeting after the communication of António Mexia and João Manso Neto about their no availability to be re-elected for their positions in EDP. EDP’s shareholders have appointed a new Executive Board of Directors team and the Board of EDPR has agreed to cease António Mexia as Chairman of EDPR´s Board, and João Manso as Vice-Chairman of EDPR´s Board and CEO of EDPR.

EDPR has also decided to simplify the Governance body, which will be composed of 12 Board members and, in addition to Miguel Stilwell, has co-opted two new Directors: Ana Paula Marques, as a Non-Executive Director, and Joan Avalin Dempsey, as an Independent Director.

Lastly, the Board of Directors has agreed that a General Shareholders’ Meeting will be summoned for the February 22nd to vote the changes proposed yesterday.

Offshore farms play an increasingly significant role in EDPR's business. The company is part owner of the Mayflower Wind Farm located off the US east coast, with an installed capacity of 1,600MW, which is expected to start operating in 2022.

Additionally, EDPR is also developing offshore projects in US, UK, France, Portugal, Poland & South Korea. This includes the WindFloat Atlantic project, the first floating wind farm in continental Europe installed off the coast of Portugal.
