Norther tranformers loaded onto OHVS

Norther N.V. released a video showing the lifting of the transformers onto the Offshore High Voltage Station (OHVS) of Norther offshore wind farm.

For the wind farm, Van Oord's role encompasses the engineering, procurement, supply and installation of the 44 V164-8.0MW MHI Vestas turbines. It also has the same activities for the OHVS and the inter-array and export cables.

The Norther wind farm is owned by Elicio N.V. (50%), Eneco Wind B.V. (25%), and Diamond Generating Europe Limited (25%).

Norther is the third wind project off the Belgian coast to be supported under the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI). Investment totals an excess of €1.2bn (£1.06bn) and the turbines will be installed in the North Sea at a 20m water depth. It is expected to generate enough energy to supply nearly 400,000 households.
