Canadian power company, Northland Power, has signed a Memorandum of understanding with KEPCO E&C, a South Korean power plant design and engineering company to develop offshore wind in South Korea.
Under the agreement, the two companies will cooperate in the long term for the development and operation of offshore wind power generation projects through the exchange of information and data, technical support and the joint development of projects.

The two companies plan to participate in domestic and overseas offshore wind power generation projects and invest in floating offshore wind power.

Northland Power stated that it looks forward to working together to support the development of a robust Korean offshore wind industry. Currently, the Canadian company operates two wind farms in the North Sea and is developing multiple wind farms of more than 1GW in Taiwan.

Through this MOU, it is expected that KEPCO's abundant power plant design experience and technology and Northland Power's experience in the investment, development, construction and operation of offshore wind power business will bring great synergy.
