Formosa 1, the 128 MW offshore wind farm off the coast of Taiwan, has engaged Renewable Strategy Limited (RSL) to deploy computerised maintenance software. The RSL Manager will monitor, analyse, and manage spare part assets at the wind farm.

“We are excited and humbled by the opportunity to support Formosa 1 on their journey of establishing the first commercial-scale offshore wind farm in Taiwan,” said Natalie Dencker, Renewable Strategy’s co-founder. “Our system will support the crucial work of getting renewable energy assets to reach their full potential.”

RSL specialises in wind software solutions, training, and advisory services. It has a particular focus on data integrity, asset integrity management, and operations and maintenance.

Formosa 1 is the first active commercial scale offshore wind farm in Taiwan. With the first phase operational since 2017, it is located 2-6km from the shore of Miaoli, in the Taiwan Strait. Resently, Formosa 1 Phase 2 was completed. Formosa 1 is currently a joint venture project of Ørsted (35%), JERA (32.5%), Macquarie’s Green Investment Group (25%), and Swancor Holding (7.5%).
