OHT has signed a contract for installation works at Dogger Bank B. It follows an announcement in July that the company had been commissioned to execute for the transport and installation of foundations at  Dogger Bank A.

The project will be a continuation for OHT’s specialist new build vessel
Alfa Lift after completing installation work on Dogger Bank A. The vessel will transport and install all monopile foundations and transition pieces for each of the two 1.2GW phases of the project between 2022 and 2024. Alfa Liftwill utilise its 3,000-tonne crane, mission equipment and smart deck handling system to install the components.

The contract award is subject to Dogger Bank A and B reaching Financial Close, which is expected in late 2020.

The
Dogger Bank A and Dogger Bank B  projects are being developed by SSE Renewables and Equinor, with first power expected in 2023. They are located more than 130km off the north-east coast of England in water depths up to 35 metres. Each project will have a 1.2 GW overall capacity featuring 100 of GE's Haliade-X 12 MW turbines.

The two companies are also developing the
Dogger Bank C project for which it is expected that a financial decision will come in late 2021. This project will also feature 100 of GE's Haliade-X 12 MW turbines with a combined capacity of 1.2 GW.
