Orient Cable has confirmed that it has been awarded an EPCI contract for the 400 MW Guangdong Yangjiang Shaba-West (Phase II) offshore wind farm project.

The contract, awarded by China Three Gorges New Energy (CTG), will see Orient Cable supply 178 km of cable. This includes a 62km 220kV export cable and a 116km 35kV IAC. Parent company Ningbo Orient Wires & Cables previously won an EPCI contract for
Phase I of the project (300 MW), back in July 2018. The company reports that two circuits of export cables will be connected from a single 220 kV offshore substation platform to an onshore centralised control centre.

CTG is also planning a larger
third phase of the project.
