Cadeler will be sending Pacific Orca to the United Kingdom in early 2021 to support a foundation installation campaign, after being subcontracted to deliver an installation vessel by DEME.

The vessel will support DEME’s
Innovation with the installation of 165 monopile foundations at Ørsted’s Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm. Once foundations are in the water, turbines will be delivered by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and installed by DEME vessels.

“Cadeler is excited to be working so closely with DEME in 2021. Our companies have delivered projects together in the past, and we have always found the working relationship to be mutually advantageous. We view DEME’s selection of Pacific Orca for assistance on Hornsea 2 as a reaffirmation of the strong connection between our companies,”
said Cadeler's CEO Mikkel Gleerup.

Hornsea Two will surpass its predecessor Hornsea One by generating 1.4 GW of clean energy once complete in 2022. The project will span an offshore area of 462km² featuring 165 SG 8.0-167 DD turbines. It is expected to power well over 1.3 million homes in the UK with clean electricity.
