CHPV Media, OrbisEnergyPeterson has moved into OrbisEnergy, Lowestoft, among some of the bigger names in offshore wind development and supply.

Jim McSporran, Peterson’s regional director, said, “OrbisEnergy will provide a platform for Peterson to increase its profile and service offering to a wider audience within the renewables industry. This will enable further business development both locally and regionally in the UK and NW Europe.

“In recent years, we have become more prominent in the offshore renewables sector, working for major clients operating in the local area from our Great Yarmouth base and wider North Sea region.”

Cost-saving measures by a collaborative approach to vessel and resource sharing developed in the oil & gas industry could be adapted to benefit the wind industry into the next decade, Mr McSporran said. “Peterson has worked with major clients in the renewables sector. It looks to deliver total integration of the energy supply chain, from analysing data and enhanced planning and procurement through to full offshore support for operations and maintenance (O&M).”

He added: “Our range of services enable our clients to benefit from economy of scale and efficiencies. These include supply base operations, warehouse and storage, procurement services via 80/20, customs and freight forwarding services, ships agency, aviation services, recruitment, fuel supply and offshore IMO tank containers, road transportation and decommissioning.

“Our unique sharing solutions, built on more than 25 years' experience, have been applied successfully to vessel and marine operations, helicopter and aviation, supply base, warehousing and inland transport.”

“Once offshore assets reach the end of their technical lifetime, Peterson can provide a complete decommissioning service with its strategic decommissioning partner Veolia,” Mr McSporran said.

As well as offices, meeting rooms, conference facilities and use of the boardroom, a reception service, communication and Internet links, tenants and virtual tenants of OrbisEnergy have access to an offshore renewables business network, including access to finance and investment support.

Johnathan Reynolds, of OrbisEnergy said, “Moving into OrbisEnergy is the next step in Peterson’s growth into offshore wind and other renewables. Placing themselves within the hub, just a few miles along the coast from its Great Yarmouth team, puts them at the centre of the offshore wind investment alongside the developers and their major contractors.

“Opportunities for tenant companies are expanding and developing all the time. Events at OrbisEnergy, like our current Offshore Wind Meets… series, helps businesses understand the major innovation opportunities and global growth markets for offshore renewables and what they need to do to win new business. That’s just a couple of examples of how OrbisEnergy is helping tenants and the wider business community here in the east.”
