Polish TSO conducting offshore wind survey

Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE SA), the Polish Transmission System Operator (TSO) is conducting a survey concerning plans for the construction of offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea.

The goal of the survey is to estimate the capacity amount Poland could generate from offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea. The data collected will then be used to determine where it would be best to further the development of the transmission network.

PSE last month said that as much as 8GW of offshore wind capacity could be installed in Poland. President Eryk Kłosowski said that 4GW of offshore wind could be installed in the Polish Baltic Sea by 2026/27 with up to 8GW in the longer term.
