PTSC and RENOVA sign MOU for development of an offshore wind farm in Vietnam

The Tokyo based RENOVA and Petrovietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop an offshore wind farm in Vietnam.
The agreement covers scouting, preparation, offshore surveys, development, construction, implementation, and O&M for a future commercial project in Vietnam.

The agreement was signed at a ceremony at the Asia Green Growth Partnership Ministerial Meeting’s Public-Private Forum hosted by the Japanese government.

“I am very delighted to form a close cooperative relationship with PTSC, which has advanced technologies for the construction of offshore facilities in Vietnam, where the continued growth of the renewable energy industry is anticipated. RENOVA will work harder on decarbonization in the country in cooperation with the Vietnamese government, the provincial government, partner companies and local residents,” said Yosuke Kiminami, RENOVA’s president and CEO.

This collaboration should aid Vietnam in achieving its offshore wind energy goal of 6 GW of nstalled capacity by 2030.
