RVO.nl to assess wind resources

The objective of the contract is to provide an independent assessment of the wind resources at the Hollandse Kust (noord) offshore wind farm.

The company who become the contractor shall analyse available offshore wind measurement sources as well as most recent re-analysis and mesoscale datasets, validate different mesoscale models and long-term correct the wind climate in the wind farm.

The study will start in September 2018 and is scheduled to be finished by the end of January 2019. The final delivery of services will then be certified by certifying body DNVGL.

With a total capacity of 700MW, the Hollandse Kust (noord) Wind Farm Zone is located ten nautical miles off the west coast of the Netherlands. Earlier this year Fugro was contracted to perform geophysical surveys at the site, these were in the form of seabed surveys and borehole drilling.

In the third quarter of 2017 an earlier contract with the Netherlands Enterprise Agency saw Fugro complete a geotechnical works of the area to map the position of existing cables and pipelines, as well as the possible presence of other obstacles.
