Seajacks scores contract in Taiwan with Siemens Gamesa

Seajacks UK Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, has signed a contract with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy for the Seajacks Zaratan to provide transportation and installation of wind turbines for the Yunlin offshore wind farm in Taiwan.

The contract starts in the second quarter of 2023 and has a duration of between 153 and 184 days and is expected to generate approximately $32.0 million to $36.3 million of revenue.

Seajacks Zaratan was designed specifically to support wind farm installation projects and has an 800T capacity crane and 2,000m² deck space.

The Yunlin offshore wind farm is located eight kilometres off the Taiwanese west coast in the Taiwan strait. With a total capacity of 640 MW, the project is one of largest offshore wind farms being developed in Taiwan. Once completed, it is expected to produce 2.4 TWh of renewable energy per year, supplying enough renewable electricity to meet the power needs of 605,000 households annually.
