Maersk Connector has been contracted by Seaway 7 for one year, with an optional six month extension. Commencing in October 2021, she will initially work in the North Sea region and is expected to move to Asia afterwards.

“Maersk Connector is a state-of- the-art cable-laying vessel with a highly skilled crew. We look forward to getting started and to a positive longer term relationship with Seaway 7 going forward,”
said Duncan Harris, UK Country Manager at Maersk Supply Service.

Delivered in 2016, the purpose built cable lay vessel measures 138 metres in length, 27 metres in breadth. Maersk Connector is specifically designed to transport and install large volumes of HVAC and HVDC power cable via its on-board 7,000 ton capacity carousel.

The vessel has been active on a number of offshore wind farms, including
WindFloat Atlantic, Moray East, Walney Extension, East Anglia ONE, and Nobelwind. It has also supported a number of subsea cable interconnector projects, most recently the Skye - Harris replacement cable.
