SENER and Amper forge floating alliance

SENER Renewable Investments, a company of the SENER Group, and the Amper Group, through its subsidiary Nervión Naval-Offshore, have signed a collaboration agreement for the development and commercialisation of floating offshore wind technology.

Under this agreement, SENER and Amper will develop and market a steel semi-submersible floating platform for offshore wind turbines with a capacity of 15 MW.

The prototype, called Hive Wind, is in the engineering development phase and over the next few weeks it will be tested on a reduced scale in the IHCantabria experimental channel, in order to assess its hydrodynamic behaviour.

SENER and Amper seek to optimise the design of floating structures to multiply the mass production of floating units at reduced costs in view of the demand for this type of structure expected in the near future.
