Shoreline to simulate floating wind

EFGLShoreline has signed the first order for a simulation solution designed for floating offshore wind.

The solution is for the 
Les Éoliennes Flottantes du Golfe du Lion (EFGL) project currently being developed by Engie, EDP Renewables, Caisse des Dépôts and Eiffage, which comprises four platforms using 6MW wind turbines mounted on a Principle Power WindFloat floating foundation.

The new floating wind-specific simulation and modelling features from Shoreline will allow EFGL to simulate and analyse port-based pre-assembly, installation of operations such as towing and hook-up, as well as component replacements and towing the structure to shore.

The simulation output can be customised and the solution includes schedules, weather downtime, production, availability, cost, utilisation and much more, so Shoreline say..

Shoreline provides cloud-based and integrated simulation and data analytics solutions for construction, O&M and daily planning and scheduling optimisation.

Les Éoliennes Flottantes du Golfe du Lion will consist of four Haliade 150-6MW test turbines that will birng the capacity of the floating offshore wind test to 24MW.
