Floating offshore wind farm,
Hywind Tampen, is now delivering power to the Snorre oil and gas field in the Norwegian Sea. This is the second oil and gas field being powered by Hywind Tampen; the first, the Gullfaks A platform, has been powered by it since November 2022.

Hywind Tampen is the first wind farm globally to power oil and gas installations. Once the wind farm reaches full capacity (95 MW), it is expected to meet roughly 35% of the electricity demand for the Snorre and Gullfaks fields, reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 200,000 tons annually as a result.

While some work still remains, both fields are now online, powered by Hywind Tampen. The project currently has 10 out of 11 turbines installed, with the final turbine expected to be deployed offshore for installation this week.
