Stowen Scores Framework Agreement For Beatrice

Stowen has been awarded a framework agreement by SSE for inspection services to cover the foundations for the Beatrice offshore wind farm. In addition, the company has been tasked to complete Greater Gabbard onshore inspection works.

For Beatrice, Stowen will also cover all onshore inspection to the operational locations inclusive of Wick & Buckle Harbour.

Stowen have frameworks in place with SSE across the UK. With the addition of Beatrice, this enters the offering into Scotland for the first time.

The Greater Gabbard offshore wind farm consists of 140 SWT-3.6-107 Siemens turbines. It is located off the coast of East Anglia and was commissioned in August 2013. With a 504 MW capacity, the project is capable of producing enough renewable energy to supply around 500,000 homes each year.

The £2.6 billion Beatrice project is owned by SSE Renewables, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Red Rock Power Limited. It was constructed through project company Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Limited. The 588 MW project exported first power in July 2018 and is situated 13 km off the Caithness coast. Consisting of 84 Siemens Gamesa SWT-7.0-154 turbines it is capable of generating enough electricity to power approximately 450,000 homes per year.
