Norwegian offshore solutions provider, OIM, announces newbuild EPC contract with CIMC; South Korean CGO indicates intention to order the first XL WTIV for the domestic market.

OIM Ltd has disclosed detailed designs for a
future-proof jack up; with a crane of 2600t OIM states that it can transport and install four 15 MW turbines per trip and can also install XXL foundations. The company has placed an EPC order for the first unit with CIMC Raffles, to be delivered by end - 2022, with options for a second vessel. OIM is also considering a US build for the second unit.

Meanwhile in South Korea CGO, a subsidiary of Woori Technology, plans to develop at least one
jack up WTIV to serve domestic and potentially international markets. The company has yet to sign a firm order, but hopes for delivery in 2022. CGO previously acted as EPC contractor for foundation and turbine installation at the 30 MW Tamra project.
