Taylor Hopkinson (TH) has been awarded a five-year framework agreement to supply contract personnel to Ørsted in Germany, to support the development of the Gode Wind 3 and Borkum Riffgrund 3 offshore wind projects.

The scope of work will see TH will provide qualified personnel across a broad range of roles within the allocated lots, from construction, engineering and O&M to project management and commissioning. The agreement commenced on 1 March 2021 and will run until 2025.

The installation of
Borkum Riffgrund 3 is expected to begin 2024 with commissioning being completed in 2025, subject to Ørsted's final investment decision. It will be the largest offshore project in Germany to date featuring 83 turbines. Borkum Riffgrund 3 is the product of Ørsted merging three wind farms it secured in auctions in 2017 and 2018. The 900 MW wind farm will be built and operated without subsidies.

Ørsted expects the installation of
Gode Wind 3 to begin in 2023, with commissioning being completed in 2024. The array will be built about 32 kilometres off the island of Norderney and will consist of 23 turbines with a combined capacity of 242 MW. The final investment decision for the project is still pending.

Donna Ellcock, Director, Offshore Wind Contract at Taylor Hopkinson said: “We are delighted to continue our collaboration with Ørsted to supply project personnel in Germany.  Our mission has always been to act as a catalyst to our clients achieving their own goals and we know this requires dedication, commitment and focused resources and processes. We will carry this mindset into all our recruitment activities in order to attract and retain the right professionals for Ørsted’s upcoming projects, whilst ensuring the health, safety and welfare of our contractors.  This is a great opportunity for TH to continue its strong track record of supplying offshore wind resources in Germany and we look forward to working with Ørsted.”
