Technostrobe acquire ITO Navaids

Technostrobe, a Quebec company that manufactures lighting systems for telecommunications towers and wind farms, has just acquired the Dutch company ITO Navaids.

This acquisition allows the Coteau-du-Lac SME to start growing in Europe, while acquiring new technologies.

Founded by Guy Buisson, Technostrobe manufactures lighting systems for structures that present a danger to air navigation.

In addition to continuing to occupy the traditional lighting market, it will now be able to address the lighting market for marine infrastructure, such as lighthouses, buoys and offshore wind farms.

"We have to understand that without this acquisition, we would have had to invest millions of dollars in research and development," explains Francis Lacombe , vice-president of Technostrobe. "And besides taking a crazy time, never would these investments have guaranteed that we would have ever managed to interest such a large number of customers, let alone in Europe."

Technostrobe has acquired 80% of the shares of the Dutch company for an undisclosed amount. Until further notice, the latter will retain its original name and remain in the Netherlands, under the guidance of founder Mark de Ruiter.
