Tekmar wins Gode Wind 3 CPS contract

Cable manufacturer ZTT has awarded Tekmar Energy Limited a contract to supply Cable Protection Systems (CPS) for the Gode Wind 3 high-voltage grid connection project.

The 16km long submarine cable will connect the wind farm, with a 242 MW capacity, to TenneT’s extra high-voltage grid via the DolWin Kappa HVDC converter station and the German grid connection at DolWin 6. Cable installation is scheduled for 2023.

In 2022 and 2023, Tekmar Energy will deliver its CPS and bespoke Bellmouths, from its Newton Aycliffe manufacturing facility, located in north-east England.

Ørsted expects the installation of Gode Wind 3 to begin in 2023, with commissioning being completed in 2024. The array will be built about 32 km off the island of Norderney.
