TenneT go Dutch on Green Bond

TenneT Holding B.V. has launched and priced another Green Bond issue, under its green bond program, of EUR 1.25 billion split in two, one of EUR 500 million and the other EUR 750 million with 10-year and 16-year terms respectively.

TenneT has for the first time added two Dutch offshore projects, Borssele Alpha and Borssele Beta, to its Green Bond portfolio including so far nine offshore projects in Germany

TenneT’s investments in offshore and onshore grid connections across the Netherlands and Germany are expected to total EUR 28 billion over the next 10 years.

In the period up to 2019, TenneT is realising over 7,000MW of connection capacity for offshore wind farms in the German sector of the North Sea, transmitting electricity equivalent to the annual power consumption of approximately 10 million households.

By 2023, TenneT expects to have realized 3,500MW of connection capacity in the Dutch sector of the North Sea, corresponding to the annual power consumption of close to five million households
