TKF has secured a contract from Vattenfall for the supply of 150 km 66 kV inter array cables for the
Hollandse Kust Zuid 1&2 offshore wind farm, located in the North Sea.

The contracted scope for TKF includes the manufacturing and delivery of 150km of 66 kV aluminum core cables and accessories. Delivery and installation of the inter array cables will start in 2022.

The offshore wind farm
Hollandse Kust Zuid 1&2 is located at approximately 22 km from the Dutch coast, between the Hague and Zandvoort. Once completed, the wind farm will have an installed capacity of approximately 750 MW, and an annual electricity output equal to the consumption of approximately 1-1.5 million Dutch households.

“We look forward working together with Vattenfall and are pleased, as a Dutch company, to contribute in this way to the sustainable energy goals in the Netherlands”,
said Walter Heerts, Business line Director Subsea at TKF.

Catrin Jung, head of offshore wind Vattenfall, commented: “Hollandse Kust Zuid is a flagship project for Vattenfall and for the Dutch energy transition. We look forward to working with TKF, a highly experienced company, to make this project a success.”

Vatenfall secured rights to the 700MW
Hollandse Kust Zuid 1&2 sites on 19th March 2018, after placing a zero-subsidy bid in a tender scheme run by the Dutch Government. The company signed an agreement with Siemens Gamesa  to deploy a 10MW turbine model at the Dutch site. It is expected that the offshore wind farm will be fully operational in 2023.
