The last monopile foundation for the Trianel Windpark Borkum II has been installed. The work was completed using Seaway Heavy Lifiting's Stanislav Yudin and Subsea 7's Seven Borealis.

The foundations were manufactured by Steelwind Nordenham GmbH a joint venture of SIF and Smulders. Each one weighing up to 900 tonnes and measuring 73m in length. They were driven around 30m into the seabed using a hydraulic hammer.

The 200MW Trianel Windpark Borkum II will cover an area of 33km2 in the approximately 45km north of the island of Borkum, North Sea. It will feature 32 Senvion 6.2 M152 offshore wind turbines, each with an output of 6.33MW.

Companies behind the project include EWE AG with a share of 37.5% and a joint venture of the power utility of the city of Zurich with 24.51%. The Public utilities cooperation, Trianel, together with 17 municipal utilities from Germany hold a share of 37.99%. It is located in the direct vicinity of the 200MW Trianel Windpark Borkum I project which consists of 40 turbines and has been in operation since summer 2015.
