TSM score contract for Fécamp offshore wind farm

Rouen company TSM (Thomas Services Maritimes), associated with the company Windcat Workboats, has been selected to support technician transfer transfer operations at the Fécamp offshore wind farm.

TSM will provide a dedicated crew transfer vessel (CTV), which will be built at the Delavergne shipyards in Avrillé in Vendée.

Bertrand ALLANIC, Director of the Fécamp offshore wind farm of EDF Renouvelables, declared on behalf of the consortium : "We are happy to contribute to the further development of TSM, a Rouen company, which has been investing in wind power for several years. years. For the Fécamp offshore wind farm, this is further proof of its desire to give the project a strong Norman foothold. This marks a new stage in the realization of the park and more particularly of its maintenance which will be managed from the base being finalized on the peninsula of the port of Fécamp. ".

Loïc THOMAS, Chairman of TSM Group and TSM Windcat added : “We are extremely happy to support the Fécamp offshore wind farm with our high quality French CTVs. With this project under construction, we are already ready, together with our long-standing partner Windcat Workboats, to provide our client with a modern, reliable and efficient fleet of state-of-the-art vessels. The TSM Windcat 53 and TSM Windcat 54 ships which are built for the Park, according to the new HSC rules of the French flag, will be able to carry up to 26 passengers at a cruising speed of 26 knots. We are now busy recruiting and training the French TSM Windcat teams, on land and at sea, with the support of our partner Windcat Workboats, and we look forward to starting our operations in 2022 in Fécamp. ".

The Fécamp offshore wind farm will be located between 13 and 22 kilometres off the coast of Fécamp in Normandy. The 71 wind turbines will be connected to gravity-based foundations installed on the seabed at depths between 25 and 30 metres. It is expected to produce the equivalent of the domestic electricity consumption of approximately 770,000 people, representing more than 60% of the inhabitants of the Seine-Maritime area. It is being developed by Eolien Maritime France (a joint venture between the French company EDF Energies Nouvelles and the Canadian company Enbridge) and wpd offshore.

Onshore construction of the Fécamp offshore wind farm is progressing with the construction of the gravity foundations on the port of Le Havre. Preparation work for the offshore installations is continuing with a view to starting in the first quarter of 2022.
