Turbine installation underway for Vietnamese nearshore project

Turbine installation at the Ca Mau Offshore Wind Power nearshore project is underway with the lifting of tower sections.


The 350-375 MW project is being developed in phases. The
first 190 MW phase is scheduled to be connected to the grid in October this year. It will see the installation of 38 MySE5.0-166 turbines. Phase 2 is 185MW and is scheduled for grid connection by the end of June 2023. It will see the installation of a further MySE5.0-166 37 turbines.
The arrays are located in South China Sea, in the Tan Tien and Nguyen Huan communes of Dam Doi district and Tam Giang Dong commune of Nam Can district, Ca Mau province. The are spread across four sites, with each phase consisting of two arrays.


The turbines will be mounted on Sulphate resistant reinforced concreted foundations with caps located in waters 2m - 10m deep. Cables hang under bridges connecting turbines to shore.
