The first turbine Senvion 6.2 M152 is standing at the Trianel Windpark Borkum II project off the coast of Germany. Two more wind turbines are to be installed and put into operation in the coming days.

Installation of the 32 offshore wind turbines is being completed 45 kilometres north of Borkum in the North Sea, using Jan De Nul's jack-up installation vessel
Taillevent. Each turbine will stand roughly 105m tall, with a rated power of 6.15 MW.

Since the beginning of August,
Tailleventof the Jan de Nul Group has been commuting between the base port of Eemshaven and the construction site, which is about six hours away. On each trip, the installer ship picks up the components for three wind turbines - nacelles with a pre-assembled hub, pre-assembled towers and nine rotor blades. In ideal weather conditions, offshore workers on board require around two to three days to install a turbine- from erecting the tower to installing the nacelle to bolting the rotor blades.

"With the construction of the first plant, we have reached the next stage of construction and will gradually commission the wind farm,"
says Klaus Horstick, Managing Director of Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum II GmbH & Co. KG. "Two thirds of the gondolas are already delivered and waiting for their use. We are well on our way and expect to complete the offshore project with the partners and project partners on schedule by the end of the year. "

The 203 MW project covers an area of 33km2 and is valued in the region of EUR 800 million. The project is backed by EWE AG with a share of 37.5% and a joint venture of the power utility of the city of Zurich with 24.51%. The Public utilities cooperation, Trianel, together with 17 municipal utilities from Germany hold a share of 37.99%.

It is located in the direct vicinity of the 200 MW
Trianel Windpark Borkum I project, which consists of 40 turbines and has been in operation since summer 2015.
